2000 Fontana Qualifying - Short Video
This video has Adrian Fernandez's and Gil de Ferran's qualifying runs. These two were the only runs that were recorded from the session unfortunately. Additional interviews with Paul Tracy and Adrian Fernandez are also included.
The video has been color corrected, sharpened and upconverted to HD but the source material is still from a VHS tape.

1998 Karting Report
Просмотров 2315 месяцев назад
Found this gem while looking through some videotapes. A race show called VMax had this report and talks about how karting helped F1 and CART drivers reach the top of the sport. It has a number of interviews with various CART drivers at the time and some young kart drivers who you might have heard at this point of time in Anthony Davidson, Ryan Briscoe and Patrick Long. The videotape is 25 years...

This video has most of the qualifying session but unfortunately is missing the last 4 qualifiers of Paul Tracy (new track record), Michael Andretti, Dario Franchitti and Helio Castroneves. This was due to running to the end of the tape on the recording. 🤷🏽♂️ Also, there is some video quality issues in the middle of the session for a few minutes. I debated whether to post this or not, but I fig...

1999 CART Road America Qualifying - Greg Moore Loses Control
I miss the CART series. As an F1 fan since 1993 and having started watching CART in 96, CART was the better product and arguably had a better depth of drivers towards the end of the century. I remember the Fontana 99 race vividly and losing Greg so young was terrible. I always think of him every 31st October. He was destined for huge success..
i'm not sure if that move was legal, he exceeded the track limit
Yes!!!!
😂The Fia would rule as follows: Return the position 5 seconds penalty 3 place grid penalty for next race 2 points of penalty on the super license 😮
Congrats to Goodyear for kicking everyone’s ass in this race. They displayed the green. How do you penalize a driver for acknowledging the green flag?
That tash adds 100 bhp
Who decides to cut away in the middle of a pass attempt for the lead with one lap remaining?
Mears was and is a great sportsman and terrific champion 🏆. Even in loss he still really only has nothing bad to say, and only good things to the victor.
Jacques Villeneuve's win in 1995 was also the first win to the best of my knowledge for Ford at the Indy 500 since 1971.
Italians do It Better!😂 Well done Alex!🎉
This is my favorite crash of all-time. It's been over 25 years since I've seen it! Had no idea who it was until I was scanning Bryan Herta's Wikipedia.
I was there!
Love the sound of those cars
That happened in front of my Dad and I. We never figured out how he survived that wreck. It was incredible. Even worse in person.
Spa francorchamps das américas
I was at this race. Cold 🥶 as hell! 37 degrees at race time. Had on most of the clothes I had with me. Ironically, I had a #3 Valvoline T-shirt under it all.
They stole that race from Scott Goodyear. But what do you expect from USUC I mean USAC Had problems with that pace car all day..on that final restart it was never up to speed.
Grande Zanardi
Goodyear was robbed
LOL quit obsessing over Mario's gorgeous eyes...
Uploaded 18 years ago... time is flying. This got uploaded in 2006.
Stupid director who prefers showing the wife instead of the BATTLE!!!
RIP Greg Moore & Gil De Ferran.
That’s why I was always a Mears fan, he always carried himself as a gentleman.
Mears need it to be more aggressive. Joncko said he did not care to die to win that race. Same happened to o'ward
Best Indy 500 finish EVER. You can hear the crowd roaring. Wow, so exciting. Imagine being in the stands for this maginificent race? What was up with that idiot camera man switching to Mears' wife, at the most import part of the race? wtf!!! Major fail!!!
I was there, 8th grader with Dad and Pon Pon, my grandpa.
i remeber this race you had to listen on radio gordy deseved it after his 1973 win
I was working the Penske/Gonzalo Rodriguez pit as a Tech Inspector for CART this race. So very tragic Gonzalo would lose his life at the next event!
They say this is the best radio call ever....? Whhhhhhaaaaaaatt?!?
I grew up on the Indy 500 in the 70's and 80's, and hear how great the drivers were in those days, that may be true, but the racing now is light years better than at this this time. In this race the only two on the lead lap were Mears and Johncock. In 1984 Mears was TWO LAPS in front of the second place car. Last year's race at the line had 17 cars on the lead lap! Eight cars within 2 seconds of the leader!
Every time I see that pass makes me smile..
Thanks to the Progrum for turning me on to this one this morning. Wow.
Paul Page is the Master.
Rick showed class in defeat.
Absolutely insane.
Back when Cart was great !!! I remember watching this. Always felt they should have given the win to Herta , Alex bombs the corner goes off track and comes back out on the racing line and blocks Herta. Wasn’t a fan of either driver but in my view Herta got robbed.
Villeneuve jacques ❤❤❤grande
If you ever meet anyone who has no idea what the Indianapolis 500 is, this is the perfect video to show them.
He was driving like a re tard.
I really don't think Nigel had the best chassis out there but he made up the difference and proved he one of the greatest open wheelers of all-times.
These best cars/engines in open wheel history!
I loved Zanardi. And maybe it was a legal pass at the time. But… he was just lucky that Herta saw him coming. This should have been a crash and it would have been on Alex.
Used to watch these races on Screensport and then Eurosport.
It's May boys and girls! On May 26, we will see the REAL great American race, the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500...there be thrills, danger, and speeds that only the most skilled and brave men and women can handle!
So did Gil get two warm up laps
Miss that Marlboro sponsorship.
Musica p/ os ouvidos
Essa devia ser a intro da IRL.
The director needed a lug wrench where it hurt the most for what he did on the final lap.
